Liberty Swing at Eltham North Adventure Playground

A frame for a swing in an open area with concrete ground. The swing is large and yellow, and has places for wheelchair wheels to roll into.

The Liberty Swing is a playground swing for people who use a wheelchair.

Children and adults can enjoy the fun of swinging and feel included in outdoor parks.

The Liberty Swing has several special features including:

  • an access ramp
  • a wheel locking mechanism
  • a safety harness.

Accessing the swing

For safety reasons, Liberty Swings require a Master Locksmiths Access Key (MLAK).

A MLAK fits into specially designed locks allowing 24-hour-a-day access to special facilities.

A MLAK works across Australia to open Changing Places facilities and Liberty Swings fitted with this lock.

How to get a MLAK

You can order a MLAK from the Master Locksmiths Association of Australasia website.

Each Victorian Companion Card holder is entitled to one free MLAK.

Only eligible individuals or organisations may purchase an MLAK.

Eligibility includes:

  • Individuals with a disability
  • Those with written authority from a doctor, disability organisation, or community health centre

Can’t find your key?
