The hotly anticipated improvement works at Diamond Creek Outdoor Pool are complete and it has now reopened for summer fun.

Wondering what’s new at the pool? Improvements include:

  • A rejuvenated toddlers’ play pool area
  • New family change areas on the pool deck
  • Refurbished change rooms
  • Upgraded walkways to improve accessibility
  • Swimming club room improvements
  • A new accessible barbecue.

The plant room will be upgraded in 2026 when the pool is closed for winter. During this time, the ageing gas boiler will be replaced with an electric heat pump. This will reduce energy costs and emissions and align with Council’s goal of transitioning away from gas power as outlined in the Climate Action Plan 2022-2032.

Mayor John Dumaresq checked out the pool ahead of the official reopening.

“Everything is looking good and the pool is ready when you are,” Cr Dumaresq said.

“No doubt the improved infrastructure will be welcomed and enjoyed by many members of the community this summer and in years to come.”

Ellis Ward councillor Peter Perkins said the reopening of the much-loved pool would be welcome news to locals.

“Each year the community looks forward to the Diamond Creek Outdoor Pool opening when summer arrives,” Cr Perkins said.

“The facility is now more accessible and the toddler play pool area has undergone an upgrade. Now is the perfect time to visit and enjoy the Shire’s only outdoor pool,” he said.

The improvements have been funded by $1.5 million from the Federal Government's Investing in our Communities Program and $807,000 from Council.
