Expressions of interest are now open for the 2025 Nillumbik Leaders program – Council’s community leadership initiative designed to empower and upskill emerging leaders.

The free nine-session program will build leadership capability, foster connection, and support participants to become catalysts for positive change in the Nillumbik community.

Mayor John Dumaresq said Council is proud to continue the Nillumbik Leaders program after its strong results in previous years.

“Nillumbik Leaders demonstrates our ongoing commitment to empowering the people who make our community such a vibrant, inclusive, and connected place to live,” Cr Dumaresq said.

“We believe everyone in Nillumbik has the potential to lead. This program equips community members with the skills, confidence, and networks they need to step forward and make a positive impact.”

Delivered at Hurstbridge Community Hub on Wednesday evenings from 6pm-9pm, the 2025 program will run fortnightly from 6 August to 26 November, with a light meal provided at each session.

Participants will explore a range of leadership topics, including the inner workings of local government, inclusive leadership, effective communication, advocacy, and project planning and implementation.

Nillumbik Leaders is open to anyone aged 18 or over who lives, works, volunteers, studies, or plays in Nillumbik and who wants to develop their leadership skills and help shape a better future for their community.

Expressions of interest close on Monday 30 June.
