Spring Outdoors
Published on 22 September 2025
Spring is the perfect time to rediscover the natural beauty of Nillumbik and the surrounding region.
The much-loved Spring Outdoors program is back for 2025 and once again delivered through a collaboration between Manningham Council, Banyule City Council and Nillumbik Shire Council.
This year’s program offers a diverse range of activities, from cultural walks to gardening tutorials, bird counts to worm farm workshops. With something for all ages and interests, it’s the ideal way to enjoy the season, learn new skills and connect with the community.
Nillumbik Mayor John Dumaresq said the partnership highlights the strength of working together across local councils.
“This is a wonderful collaboration that celebrates and unifies our communities through a mix of outdoor and online experiences,” Cr Dumaresq said.
“We encourage everyone to come along, try something new and make the most of this opportunity to enjoy the outdoors while connecting with others.”
Following its highly successful launch in 2023, the Spring Outdoors Cultural Series will also return this year.
Cr Dumaresq highlighted its significance.
“We partner with the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung people, the Traditional Owners of this land. The Cultural Series honours their knowledge of country and encourages us all to care for the land and strengthen our connection to nature,” Cr Dumaresq said.
