The Great Business Connect is back

Connect with purpose to like-minded businesses, expand your network and build valuable relationships that support long-term success at this free business networking event.

Hosted by Council, The Great Business Connect will take place on Thursday 20 August 2026 from 10am to 1pm at the Eltham Community Reception Centre.

Unlike traditional networking events, The Great Business Connect focuses on purposeful, one-to-one introductions tailored to participants' business goals.

On registration attendees will be asked what support, expertise or connections they are looking for, and will then be matched with other participants who are best positioned to help meet those needs.

Whether seeking a mentor, marketing advice, technical expertise, referral partners, or collaboration opportunities, participants will be connected with local business leaders and professionals who can share insights, inspire and provide practical advice to help them confidently take their next step.

Nillumbik Mayor Cr Naomi Joiner said The Great Business Connect takes networking beyond exchanging business cards.

“The event format was developed in response to feedback from the Nillumbik business community, and last year's event received outstanding positive feedback from participants. We're excited to bring it back in 2026 and help even more local businesses make valuable connections.” Cr Joiner said.

The event provides a structured and supportive environment where participants can share their story, build relationships and discover new opportunities through curated conversations.

The event is free to attend, however places are limited and bookings are essential.
