Nillumbik Shire Council contractors will undertake pruning works and possible tree removal around overhead powerlines.
The works will be undertaken in the streets of Diamond Creek, Eltham, Eltham North, Greensborough, Plenty, with a small number of streets in Wattle Glen and Research between July and December 2026.
The works are part of the regular legislative maintenance to ensure compliance with the Electrical Safety (Electrical Line Clearance) (Interim) Regulations 2025.
Council is responsible for maintaining a minimum clearance space around the powerlines to avoid the chance of trees contacting powerlines, which could lead to power outages and in some cases, fires.
