Background
A new Hurstbridge Community Shed has been built at 4 Arthurs Creek Road (behind Allwood House, next to the Hurstbridge Tennis Courts).
The shed will provide a permanent home for the Hurstbridge Shedders (formerly known as the Hurstbridge Men’s Shed).
The community group, which recently opened to all community members regardless of gender, previously operated out of a small storage room at the Hurstbridge Community Hub, limiting numbers and activities.
The group provides dedicated Men’s Shed days on Wednesdays from 10am to 2pm and Women’s Shed days on Thursdays and Sundays 1.30pm-3.30pm.
The Shedders provide a space for individuals to learn new or share skills or just catch up with other like-minded people.

Project updates
July 2026: Works are now complete.
September 2025: Foundation concrete slab and steel framing works have now been completed.
August 2025: The Cultural Heritage Management Plan works have been completed, and bulk excavation for the foundation and service connections has commenced.
June 2025: Earthworks are set to begin along with Cultural Heritage Management Plan works.
May 2025: Planning permit issued.
April 2025: Site induction completed with Wurundjeri for Cultural Heritage Management Plan.
March 2025: Site fencing is complete.
December 2024: External consultants engaged, and reports submitted with planning permit requirements.
August 2024: Currently in the process of planning and building permits. Work will begin after receiving the permits.
June 2024: The construction contract has been awarded to Unlimited Commercial Constructions Pty Ltd.
