Background

The Hurstbridge Dog Park is a much-loved community space for the Hurstbridge community.

The upgrade aims to enhance the park’s usability, safety and accessibility, and revitalise a popular recreational space and further activate the area for all user groups.

Nillumbik Shire Council has received a $225,000 grant from the Victorian Government through the New and Upgraded Dog Parks Program.

Works include

The planned upgrade includes:

  • accessible seating and shelters
  • a passive dog area for less active dogs
  • agility area
  • new concrete pathways
  • solar lighting at key locations
  • landscaping
  • new signage and
  • additional waste bins

Funding details

Victorian Government - $225,000

Nillumbik Shire Council - $125,000

Project update 

The construction is scheduled to start from mid-October 2026 and be complete by December 2026.
