Background

Yarrambat War Memorial Oval is a highly valued community sporting facility that plays a vital role in supporting local sport and recreation. While Yarrambat has a resident population of approximately 1,631 people, the clubs based at the reserve have a combined membership of more than 1,000 participants, highlighting the importance of the precinct to the wider community.

The existing change room facilities have reached the end of their useful life and no longer meet the needs of current users. The external "Away" change rooms are undersized and outdated. The "Home" and "Umpire" change rooms are located separately in the pavilion and lack amenities to adequately support the needs of female participation, accessibility requirements, or contemporary sporting standards.

To ensure the reserve can continue to support growing participation in sport and accommodate a diverse range of users, Council is delivering a significant redevelopment of the "Away" change rooms to accommodate all match day requirements for both football and cricket.

Works include

This project will support the facilitation of activities at Yarrambat War Memorial Park, specifically training, games and school bookings.

This will be achieved by delivering:

Two large ground level change rooms that meet AFL and Cricket Vic Guidelines
- Flexibility to be configured as four smaller team change rooms during training or school bookings
- Separate amenities for each change room
- Accessible improvements with Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) compliance
- Female friendly facilities
- Accessible public amenities
- New first aid room
- Umpires room
- Storeroom
- Energy efficient fittings and equipment
