Back on Ya Bike

This low-cost course is designed for people new to, or returning to, cycling.

The session will be run by a highly qualified instructor and bike coach from Bike it Better Cycle Coaching.

The tailored small group course is designed to empower you to:

  • complete a safety check on your bike and equipment
  • check that your bike is correctly fitted and adjusted for you
  • develop basic bike control skills such as braking, cornering, straight-line riding, using gears and stopping in an emergency
  • build confidence in essential on-road techniques such as signalling, scanning and using eye contact
  • increase knowledge about riding around town confidently, such as using shared paths and bike lanes, and using local maps and apps for route planning.

There will also be lots of time for Q&A.

Light lunch and morning tea will be provided.

This course is co-funded by VicRoads through a Community Road Safety Grant.

This course will be conducted by highly qualified 'Bike It Better' instructor and bike coach Jennie Ramage, a later convert to cycling with lived experience of developing new skills over 50.
