Next date: Saturday, 03 October 2026 | 02:00 PM to 03:30 PM

electrification-101 making the switch

Curious about electrification but not sure what's required?

In this free session we’ll explore why electrification is a smart move for your health, comfort and finances, which appliances you might want to swap out (and what to swap them for), and how rebates can help make it more affordable.

You'll get basic info on the pros and cons of solar and batteries, plus how to plan a smooth transition to electrification when considering factors like existing power supply, removing old gas meters etc. We’ll also chat about the real costs, common hurdles, and handy tips to make the process smoother.

You’ll leave with a clear picture of what electrification is all about, how you might take your first steps, and who you can go to for help along the way.

This session sets you up perfectly for Electrification 102, in which a local electrician and electrification expert will dive deeper into available technologies, discuss technical questions and scenarios, and answer attendee questions in a Q&A.

Who is it for?

This session is ideal for anyone interested in creating a more comfortable, affordable, energy-efficient home.

We are committed to creating an inclusive and accessible event environment for all attendees. If you have accessibility or inclusion requirements regarding this event, please contact us about how we can help at environment@nillumbik.vic.gov.au.
