Did you know that more than 500 different moth species have been observed in Nillumbik?

Join Friends of Biodiversity Hohnes Hill, Entomological Society of Victoria and Council's biodiversity team for our night-time insect survey and delve into the captivating world of invertebrates and help us unlock the hidden wonders of Lenister Farm.

Learn how to survey for moths and other insects. Contribute to citizen science and improve our understanding about the biodiversity of Nillumbik.

This event will largely be at night, people attending need to be comfortable walking in dark bushland areas at night.

We will search for invertebrates in bushland areas and also have moth light sheets setup for people to see what invertebrates are attracted to the light sheets after dark.

We are committed to creating an inclusive and accessible event environment for all attendees. If you have accessibility or inclusion requirements regarding this event, please contact us about how we can help at environment@nillumbik.vic.gov.au.
