Learn to use a drill
Next date: Saturday, 31 October 2026 | 10:00 AM
to 12:00 PM
A cordless drill is one of the most useful tools you can own. This practical session covers everything you need to use one safely and confidently.
What you'll learn
You'll learn how to handle a drill safely and correctly, choose the right setting and bit for the job, and fit and change bits quickly.
We'll cover drill speed settings for different materials, how and when to drill pilot holes, and how to work with a range of common screws and fasteners.
During the session you'll drill and fasten into real materials, so you leave with practical experience rather than just theory. By the end, you'll have the basic skills to tackle common drilling and fastening tasks around the home.
All drills, bits, materials, and fasteners are provided on the day, though you can bring your own drill along if you'd like advice on how to use it.
Who it is for
This session is ideal for beginners and those with limited experience using power tools. All genders and identities welcome.
We are committed to creating an inclusive and accessible event environment for all attendees. If you have accessibility or inclusion requirements regarding this event, please contact us about how we can help on environment@nillumbik.vic.gov.au.
