Kintsugi is the ancient Japanese art of repairing pottery with gold or lacquer to celebrate its imperfections rather than hide them. The philosophy of kintsugi is about finding beauty in the broken and recognising that something can be made stronger and more resilient through repair. Join us in this workshop to repair your own precious plate, bowl, or cup and give it new life. As well as creating a beautiful new object, you’ll be repairing a useful item and saving it from landfill. FREE but bookings are essential. Please bring along a pottery or ceramic item that you'd like to repair. About the Lost Skills sessions REthink Nillumbik is hosting a series of free workshops at the Nillumbik Repair Cafe. At these sessions, you can learn fantastic new skills to use at home, and also help Nillumbik reduce its waste and transition to a circular economy. A circular economy is one that repairs, reuses and repurposes objects rather than throwing them away.
