The Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Warrandyte Community Association will be held on 15 October at 6.45pm.

Following the AGM, guest speaker Vicky Shukuroglou will share insights from her work as a local artist, photographer, writer and ecologist.

Much of Vicky's work involves bringing people with different knowledge, interests and perspectives into conversation, exploring how understanding shapes the way we see, value and care for living systems. She sees opportunities for relationships to develop, understandings to shift, and for depleted systems, both natural and social, to regenerate.

Working alongside engineers, land managers, Council and residents, she has helped turn conflicts around development and habitat into practical, lasting outcomes. That same approach underpins all her activities.

Vicky founded Nillumbio, a biodiversity-focused community learning and action organisation in Nillumbik, and convenes Friends of Biodiversity Hohnes Hill, leading the ongoing care of a reserve with complex ecological management requirements.

Vicky co-authored and photographed The ACE Guide to Eucalypts Melbourne and Loving Country: A Guide to Sacred Australia, which was shortlisted for the ABIA Awards and named by Booktopia among its Best Beautiful Books of 2020.
