Metro Trains Info Session - Making the most of free travel

Victorian Seniors Card holders can access nine days of free public transport across Victoria during Seniors Festival, from 3 to 11 October 2026.

This free session is an opportunity to learn more about the network, build your confidence using trains, and make the most of free transport for Seniors Festival activities in the city and beyond.

This session will be presented by a Metro Trains education officer.

Topics covered will include:

• How to catch the train
• Ticketing
• Mykis (topping up, tapping on/off)
• Senior discounts
• Timetables
• Support offered to older and disabled people
• Role of Protective Service Officers
• New stations
• How to stay safe while on the network 

Morning tea provided from 9.45am, Metro Train talk at 10.15am.
