Fionna Madigan is an alumni of the Dunmoochin Artist in Residence program. She has returned to the Long Gallery to share her new work. She is a past recipient of the mayoral award at the Nillumbik Contemporary Art prize, and her work is held in the shire collection (currently exhibited at Montsalvat 'LOCAL:REMIX' exhibition). Her works are bright, immersive and straddle a fertile zone between realism and abstraction.
Lisa McPerson's practice involves moving between bodies; human bodies and bodies of clay. As a practitioner of East Asian Medicine, she knows that our hands are storehouses of memory. The making of shapes and forms, teach clay to forget what it was, in order to become something new.
Dunmoochin is a quirky and culturally significant site, established as an 'artist colony' by three-time Archibald prize winner, Clifton Pugh, attracting creative luminaries including Mirka Mora and Fred Williams. It is well worth a visit.
