The Hurstbridge Repair Café, facilitated by SHIFT (Sustainable Hurstbridge Ideas for Transition), invites community members to breathe new life into their broken items while learning valuable repair skills.
Held on the 2nd Saturday of every month in the Frank Nankervis Room at the Hurstbridge Community Hub, the Repair Café is a welcoming place where friendly volunteer fixers help you mend everyday items that might otherwise end up in landfill.
At each session, attendees sit with a repairer who talks through the repair process—making it not just a practical service, but also a great opportunity to learn DIY skills, share conversation, and connect with neighbours. Repairs are FREE, with optional donations appreciated to support expenses such as insurance, tools, and training workshops.
A wide variety of items can be repaired, including:
By bringing items to the Repair Café, you’re helping reduce waste, save resources, and support a more sustainable local community—all while meeting the passionate volunteers who make it possible.
