Saving water indoors
Next date: Saturday, 12 September 2026 | 01:30 PM
to 03:30 PM
Small changes in how we use water can add up to significant savings over time, both for the environment and your water bills.
This session takes a broad and practical look at water use in the home. We'll explore where household water comes from and how it's typically used across the kitchen, bathroom, and laundry, along with straightforward principles and techniques for reducing consumption in each area.
We'll cover water-saving technologies worth knowing about, alongside simple behavioural changes that cost nothing to implement.
The session also looks at the different water sources available to households, including mains, tank, and grey water; and how each can be used most effectively. We'll also touch on the water embedded in the things we buy and consume every day, which often exceeds what comes out of our taps.
Who is it for?
This session is suited to anyone wanting to learn about water-saving technologies and behaviours to reduce their water consumption in different areas of the home, and also save money on water bills.
We are committed to creating an inclusive and accessible event environment for all attendees. If you have accessibility or inclusion requirements regarding this event, please contact us about how we can help at environment@nillumbik.vic.gov.au.
