A day of Total Fire Ban has been declared for Friday 9 January. The Fire Danger Rating is Extreme. The Recycling Centre and Reuse Shop in Plenty, and Edendale Farm in Eltham will be closed.

Located in Chadds Creek Road, Strathewen, the reserve includes a grass oval, sports pavilion and tennis club.
The reserve also incorporates the Community Bushfire Memorial including the Blacksmith's Tree.
