Book a hard waste collection

Nillumbik households can:

  • book one free hard waste collection per financial year
  • leave out a maximum of two cubic metres of hard waste for collection.

Nillumbik Shire Council provides a hard waste collection service for all households with our waste services.

Our hard waste service provider is WM Waste Management Services.

This service is for damaged items that cannot be repaired or reused or fit in your kerbside landfill bin. Items are recovered and recycled where possible, including metals, household appliances, e-waste/electronics, tools and mattresses.

Support reuse

For unwanted items in good usable condition, find other options to help keep them circulating longer, to support the circular economy and reduce waste to landfill.

Extra collections

Extra collections cost $153.60 per collection, plus:

  • $27.90 for each mattress or bed base

You can pay for this by credit card over the phone. Prices correct from 1 August 2026.
