Lost and found animals
Nillumbik Regional Pound is located at 290-304 Yan Yean Road, Plenty (behind the Nillumbik Operations Centre)
PLEASE NOTE: due to health concerns related to COVID-19, residents are no longer able to visit the pound facility at the Operations Centre on Yan Yean Road.
If your dog is in the pound and you would like to collect it, please call our Customer Service team on 9433 3111, Monday to Friday, 8.30am-5pm.
An invoice will be e-mailed to you with details about the release fee and instructions on how to make payment online.

Once payment has been made, a Community Safety Officer will be in contact to arrange the return of your dog.
Dogs will not be returned over the weekend, but any weekend fees will be waived.
If you have lost your pet
Animals that are currently in the Nillumbik pound are displayed at the bottom of this page. If your pet is not listed, you can call the Customer Service on 9433 3111 to leave your details. Any information you can provide including:
- when and where your pet was lost
- a description of its breed
- colouring and gender or
- collar or identification your pet was wearing
...will help us reunite you with your pet.
Documentation required when collecting your pet from the pound
So that we can make sure that pets are reunited with their correct owner, some identifying information is required:
- Provide proof of current registration or pay for current registration at the pound
- Provide two forms of personal identification, one being photographic ID
- Pay the release fees by EFTPOS/Credit Card only.
