Council provides an affordable door-to-door community bus service to assist Nillumbik residents to access shops, services and social activities. This service operates on weekdays and is subject to availability.
The community bus is for residents who are 65 years of age or over, are registered with My Aged Care, and have been referred to Council for community transport.
Residents who are under 65 years of age, do not receive NDIS support, and have limited physical mobility are welcome to contact Council on 9433 3384 to discuss their situation. Council is not a registered NDIS provider.
The community bus has a wheelchair hoist and can accommodate passengers who choose to remain in their wheelchair for the journey. The bus can also accommodate passengers with fold-up wheelchairs who choose to transfer to a seat for the journey.
Passengers who do not use a wheelchair are required to be able to get on and off the bus independently. Drivers can assist with seatbelts and loading/unloading bags and mobility aids as needed.
