Alistair Knox Park

Gum trees and shade sails provide shade over a playground

Alistair Knox Park was first developed as Eltham Town Park in 1975. It was renamed in 1999 after local designer and builder Alistair Knox, best known for his use of mud bricks.

The park contains a wonderful display of bush gardening, sustainable building practices and a beautiful wetlands pond. It has been classified by the National Trust of Australia.

Much of the equipment at the park has been left plain, with rustic timbers exposed to fit in with the natural bushland surroundings. The park has climbing equipment of various sizes to accommodate for a range of abilities. There are slides, rings, swings, bridges and rockers. Several artistic sculptures also appear within the park, as well as a section of the Heidelberg School Artist's Trail.

Dogs

You can bring your dog to the park, but they must be on a leash, except where signed. They are not allowed within five metres of a playground or BBQ.
