Eltham Central Park

Eltham Central Park is located near the iconic Eltham Rail Trestle Bridge in Eltham and within close proximity to local shops, community facilities and public transport. 

The oval is also adjacent to Alistair Knox Park, Eltham Library and is on the Diamond Creek Trail.

Sporting clubs

Eltham Central Park is primarily a sporting reserve, with the central oval used by established local clubs, including:

  • Eltham Football Netball Club for senior and junior AFL training, matches and club activities during the football season.
  • Eltham Cricket Club for cricket training, competition and club activities during the during the summer season.

The ground is also used by junior football and cricket programs, as well as occasional community-based sporting activities and school sport.

Access

The park is easily accessed via:

  • Walking and cycling: Direct access from the Diamond Creek Trail, which runs alongside the reserve and connects to the wider shared path network.
  • Local streets: Primary access via Panther Place, with nearby connections to surrounding residential streets.
  • Public transport: Within walking distance of Eltham town centre and railway station.

The site is generally flat and open, making it suitable for pedestrians, casual visitors and sporting spectators.

Dogs

Dogs must be on a leash within five metres of shared paths.

Dogs are permitted off leash on the oval when it is not in use by local schools or sporting clubs. In the area surrounding the oval, dogs must be on leash.
