Landfill (red) bin

Our landfill bins have a red lid. This bin is for household waste and contents are sent to landfill.

When is my red bin collected?

The landfill bin is collected fortnightly. To find out when your red bin will be picked up next, visit check your bin day.

What can I put in my red bin?

  • Plastic bags and other soft plastics
  • Broken ceramic crockery, glass and mirrors
  • Nappies and textiles
  • Polystyrene and foam
  • Cartons (milk, juice and long-life)
  • Coffee cups 

What should I leave out of my red bin?

  • Food waste (this should go in your green bin)
  • Garden waste (this should go in your green bin)

Can I change the size of my red bin, or how often it's collected?

Your annual waste charge includes one 120 litre bin, collected fortnightly.

You can:

  • upsize to a 140 litre bin
  • downsize to an 80 litre bin
  • increase to a weekly collection. 

Note: There is a maximum of two 120 litre bins or one 140 litre landfill bin per property.
